Linh wins bronze in Germany

Taekwondo fighter Chu Hoang Dieu Linh has won a bronze medal at the German Open in Hamburg.

The Vietnamese martial artist, who has secured a spot at the coming Olympics in London, lost 6-10 to German rival Helena Fromm in the semi-final round of the women's under-67kg category.

In earlier rounds, Linh had defeated competitors from Australia and France.

Linh's teammates also participated in the event but were eliminated.

Following the German Open, Linh and other key members of Viet Nam's taekwondo team will move to China for an intensive training course until the end of April.

They will then compete in the 20th Asian Taekwondo Championships to be held in HCM City from May 9-11.
