The Ministry of Transport reviews the results of the transportation time schedule change after its application, which only stared a week ago in Hanoi.

At the regular press-conference on February 6, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Manh Hung affirmed that, “After just one week, the adjustment has shown to decrease congestion during the morning and the evening peak hours."
However, he also acknowledged that there are other possible reasons for traffic jams in Hanoi. These causes were not addressed by the new regulation, since many university students and labourers from other provinces continue to commute from their hometowns. He also admitted that the new timetable has added to some troubles for students and teachers.
“When the Ministry of Transport proposed the time adjustment, other concerned agencies such as Hanoi Police Department and Military also contributed ideas to improve regulations. We cannot give out absolute evaluations after one week while suburban students and labourers are still at home.” Hung said.
The Transport Department will work with Hanoi authorities on Friday this week to make assessments and suitable adjustments.
