| The Ministry of Education and Training says it will set up an inspection group to review the success of the “Friendly Schools, Active Students” programme among schools nationwide. |
The group's main focus will be on key goals, such as building green and safe schools; preventing violence and bad conduct, organising leisure activities, including games and sports, as well as inspecting the process of selecting good teachers.
In addition, the inspectors will assess the implementation of the campaign called “3 Enough”, whose aim is to ensure that all students have enough clothes, food and study materials.
The inspection group will spend two days working at each locality and the results will be announced before April 15, 2012.
“Friendly Schools, Active Students” was launched by the Ministry of Education and Training, in cooperation with other agencies such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; the Vietnam Women’s Union; and the Vietnam Study Encouragement Societies, in 2008.
Its main purpose and most important meaning is to create a safe, equal educational environment, which inspires students to study, helping to ensure students’ right at all levels and heighten it's quality, with special focus on a friendly and democratic atmosphere. At "friendly schools", students are meant to feel relaxed and motivated to learn through extracurricular activities games and teamwork.
