During its fourth conference, it will hear reports on the leadership and direction of the Party Politburo and Secretariat, the supervision and implementation of Party discipline, financing and other important work in 2011.
Addressing the conference, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the delegates to give their opinions on the project to build uniform infrastructure for the cause of modernization and industrialization in the 2011-2020 period.
He emphasised that the 11th National Party Congress approved the socio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020, considering the building of uniform infrastructure an important factor in promoting socio-economic development and economic restructuring.
However, Mr Trong said, this requires all-out efforts by different sectors and localities to implement the project effectively.
The Party chief emphasised the need to identify rapid and sustainable development as the aim and orientation for the future and quality, productivity, and competitiveness as top priorities.
He also asked related agencies to focus on mobilizing different resources from the country and overseas and cut ineffective investment.
Regarding Party building in the current situation, Mr Trong said as the wise leadership of the Party is a decisive factor behind all victories of the Vietnamese revolution, the task of building the Party is of crucial importance to the existence of the regime.
The fourth conference of the Party’s 11th Central Committee is scheduled to last until December 31.
