The consumer price index (CPI) in November rose 0.39 percent against last month, representing a year-on-year increase of 19.38 percent, the General Statistics Office (GSO) announced on November 24.

According to the GSO, the reduction in prices of foodstuff contributed to slowing the rise of CPI.
GSO Pricing Department Nguyen Duc Thang said that however restaurants and food services are on the rising trend due to a price hike of rice, vegetables and processed food after floods devastated central and southern provinces.
To limit the impact of CPI rises, ministries, sectors and localities continue to carry out major measures to ensure supply of essential goods, especially to meet people’s demands during the upcoming traditional new year Tet festival.
