A rockslide on July 4 in the central province of Nghe An quarry caused one dead and seven seriously injured.

Tragic Len Co quarry rockslide
The incident occurred in Quy Hop District’s Chau Loc Commune when a large rock fell on a group of workers.
Nguyen Van H, 39, was killed immediately, while seven other people were seriously injured and sent to local hospital for treatment.
According to investigations by DTiNews, another fallen rock earlier injured Duong Van Hai, 37, on May 3 while he was driving an excavator at the quarry site.
However, the quarry owners had not informed Hai’s family about his situation until some days later.
Hai was sent to Nghe An General Hospital for treatment but was then moved to the Hanoi-based Viet Duc Hospital to have his arm treated. He was sent back to a hospital in Nghe An for treatment and was discharged from hospital at the end of June.
Hai has yet to make a full recovery and continues to suffer panic attacks.
Another rockslide on April 1 at Len Co quarry in Yen Thanh District’s Nam Thanh Commune, claimed 18 lives and left six injured.
The quarry owners were arrested and charged with labour safety violations.
