The third bridge, initiated by Dantri/DTiNews, was put into operation in the southern city of Can Tho on June 25.

Eager for the opening of the new bridge
The new concrete bridge was built to replace the old wooden one that was used by the people of the underprivileged communes of Truong Xuan A and Truong Xuan B, in Thoi Lai District.
Happy to have a new bridge, hundreds of local students ran across, while a crowd watched at the opening ceremony.
Le Van Nhanh, 70, of Thanh Binh Hamlet, said, “Finally we have a new bridge. It’s great for all of us. The old bridge was very dangerous.”
One student commented, "Before we had to cross the river by boat. With this new bridge we can ride our bicycles to school!"
Nguyen Van Hoang, Vice Chairman of Thoi Lai District People’s Committee said, “For years, people in Truong Xuan A and Truong Xuan B faced danger each time they had to cross that old wooden bridge. Thanks to the support of Dantri/DTiNews, and the Vietnam Study Encouragement Fund, the community is much safer."
The Editor-in-chief of Dantri and DTiNews, Pham Huy Hoan, said the funding for the bridge’s construction came from reader donations and support by the Vietnam Study Encouragement Fund. Construction started on April 8.
The facility cost around VND219,390,175 (USD10,598), and is the third project of its kind initiated by Dantri and DTiNews.
Other projects include the bridge in southern Kien Giang Province, as well as one in the Central Highlands, Kon Tum Province.
Dantri/DTiNews is building Dantri 3 bridge in Phu Mua Hamlet, Jo Ngay Commune, Dong Giang District, in Quang Nam province.
