15 bodies found in ship accident

Rescuers have recovered 15 bodies from the cruise ship that capsized on the Saigon River in Binh Duong Province.

By 3pm today, May 21, rescuers have recovered 15 bodies from the cruise ship that capsized last night on the Saigon River in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The victims were among people attending the birthday party of a three year-old boy, Quach Hong Dat, son of Quach Luong Tai, Director of the Binh Duong-based Lan Anh Company. Tai was the only one in his family that managed to escape from the accident. He lost his wife Tran Thi Tuong, his son Dat, and his six year-old daughter Quach Lan Anh.

Pham Xuan Long, another man that survived the accident, also lost his wife and his son Pham Xuan Khanh, 9 years old. Khanh is the only victim that is still missing so far.

The rescue team has started allowing vehicles to approach the scene of the accident to begin hoisting the sunk ship Din Ky out of the water.

Pham Xuan Truong, acting chief of staff, Binh Duong Police, told DTiNews that the ship\'s registration had expired on Jan 28 this year. Its captain Le Van Duc is now under police\'s custody for investigation purpose.

Vehicles are beginning to hoist the sunk ship Din Ky out of the water.
