The new Vietnamese ambassador to the US, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, pledged to support the Vietnamese community in the US and facilitate investment of American Vietnamese people in Vietnam.
At a reception for representatives of a chapter of the Vietnam Entrepreneur Association in Washington D.C on May 13, Ambassador Cuong expressed delight at the strong growth of the Vietnamese community in the US and the many successful people who have made great contributions to their homeland.
Ambassador Cuong expressed his hope that with its 120 members in all 50 US states operating in a wide range of fields, the chapter will continue to provide information on investment and businesses opportunities in both the US and Vietnam.
The ambassador affirmed that Vietnam and the Vietnamese embassy in the US will create favourable conditions for American businesses to invest in Vietnam.
He also expressed his hope that there will be representative offices of the chapter in Virginia, Texas and California to promote trade ties between the two countries.
The same day, the ambassador received some overseas Vietnamese intellectuals and businesses as well as representatives from the Vietnam Youth and Student Association in Washington D.C.
