The British University Vietnam, the first British-owned university in the country, will open its new main campus in the northern province of Hung Yen.

The signing ceremony between Viet Hung Urban Development and Investment JSC, Ecopark’s investor, and the university on the campus construction

The campus, with an investment of USD20 million in the first phase, will be located in Ecopark Urban Area.

The campus will be able to accommodate around 10,000 students, and will have facilities on par with what might be found at a British university. The first phase of the construction is scheduled to begin in 2013.

The university’s current campus is located on Ba Trieu Street, Hanoi, and was opened in September 2009.

The school also has plans to open campuses in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sir Graeme Davies, the university’s president, said, "We are delighted at the signing of this agreement to locate our main campus at Ecopark. It helps us to create the ideal learning environment for our students and is a big step for our development in Vietnam.”
