The Vietnamese General Department of Taxation has asked software companies to help solve the backlog of unprinted invoices for businesses.

Enterprises are asked for self-printed invoices after March 31

Currently there are thousands of businesses waiting for invoices from printing houses, as the deadline for self-printing nears. Under the Ministry of Finance’s new regulations, after March 31, businesses will be responsible for printing their own, instead of getting them from tax agencies.

This has meant a backlog of orders to printing houses, who say that they cannot meet the demand before the deadline. New software may be the solution to this dilemma.

IT companies, who may have the technology to speed up the process have been urged to send their software to the General Department of Taxation.

The department will then select useful software and cooperate with the IT firms to solve the problem.

One of the software products to be introduced is Smartkey, created by ICEL Joint Consultancy and Training Joint Stock Company. This software can help enterprises in self-print and manage invoice and tax codes.

Visual Data Centre (VDC) under the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and ICEL has signed a memorandum of understanding on the application of the invoice software of Smartkey.

The invoice printing backlog has caused a lot of difficulties for enterprises, including customers complaints and financial losses. Many of them have had to pay extra fees for expedited printing.
