Picturesque Nha Trang, in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, welcomed around 100,000 visitors during this Tet holiday.

Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Tourism Promotion Centre, said the figure indicated a rise of between 15% and 20% compared with last year.
Thanh noted that half of the visitors were foreign, which is up 30% from a year earlier.
Vinpearl Land, Hon Tre island, and Nha Trang beach attracted a great amount of the tourists during the holiday. Doc Liet and Yang Bay Fall also drew their fair share because of the pleasant weather.
Nha Trang offered the chance for visitors to take part in traditional New Year activities such as dancing, a human chess competition, a kiting festival, as well as exhibitions of ornamental trees and calligraphy.
The provincial government set a limit to room price hikes to a maximum of 50% for all hotels, in order to prevent possible price gouging, Thanh added.
