| ATMs to become more reliable |
This came after a request made to commercial banks by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). The request was in response to a slew of customer complaints that ATMs have experienced “system errors”, run out of money, experienced electricity difficulties and even been attacked by thieves.
ATM operators are to heighten cooperation with local police to prevent possible crimes involving ATMs during the Tet season.
Banks were told to take measures so that customers will have access to their money at ATMs during the holiday. In recent days, many ATM users have encountered difficulties in withdrawing money from the ATMs of certain banks. In the meantime, the country has seen dozens of cases of ATM connected theft, with combined losses worth billions of VND. The situation not only causes problems and losses for banks, but shakes the confidence of ATM users.
