The nation's export turnover in 2010 was US$71.629 billion, an increase of 25.5% against last year's figures.

Rice is one of Vietnam\'s main export products

Vietnam’s export turnover in December was estimated to reach US$7.1 billion, up 6.9% over that of November, bringing the nation\'s export turnover in 2010 to US$71.629 billion, an increase of 25.5% against last year\'s figures, announced the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Of the total, the export turnover of agro-forestry and fishery products went up by 22.9% and the processing industry was up 21.4% against last year.

The increase in export turnover was due to the rise in the world prices and also the volume of export products including rice, rubber, cashews, leather, garment and textile.

Particularly, the export turnover of the minerals and materials group was reduced because of the sharp decrease in the volume of exported crude oil to serve the domestic production.

The country’s import turnover in 2010 was estimated to reach US$84.004 billion, up 20.1% compared to last year\'s figures.
