State-owned Vietnam Airlines said December 23 that it expects pre-tax profit of VND350 billion ($18 million) this year, up from VND154 billion last year.
The country’s flag carrier said in a statement that it expects revenue in 2010 at VND36.27 trillion, up 47.3% from last year.
The carrier also announced its 12 millionth passenger at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi Thursday, fulfilling its annual target for this year early.
Last year, the carrier launched 73,499 domestic and foreign flights with over 9.34 million passengers and 131,221 tonnes of cargo, an increase from the previous year of 6.6 and 3.2 per cent respectively.
The company said it targets revenue of VND45.5 trillion, and to transport 14 million passengers and 193,000 tons of cargo in 2011.
