Vietnam will not cooperate with any foreign side to use the deep-water Cam Ranh Bay for military purposes, reaffirmed Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga.
The Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman made the statement in response to reporters’ questions of Vietnam’s opinions as Kyodo News Agency recently run an article saying that Russia had completed researches and hoped to set up a military base in Cam Ranh.
According to Ms. Nga, Vietnam will exploit the Bay for national construction and protection.
