Customers at a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) on Tay Son Street, Hanoi, were surprised by a visit of Washington State’s Governor and the US Ambassador.
The politicians got busy and went to work, even putting on aprons, to serve customers fried potatoes.
The governor of Washington State, Christine Gregoire and US Ambassador Michael Michalak, came to the restaraunt on September 20 to acquaint customers with agricultural products, particularly potatoes, from Washington State.
Gregoire said that people from her state and Vietnam had a very close relationship. The main products exported to Vietnam include computers, potatoes, apples and cherries.
Washington is the second largest potato state and top producer and exporter of frozen potatoes in the USA. All KFC restaraunts in Vietnam use potatoes from this state.
Michael Michalak said that he loved Hanoi, Vietnam and KFC’s food very much. He felt it was an honor to help acquaint people with US potatoes from Washington State in order to boost export and trading activities between enterprises of the two countries.
