In Hanoi, many shops, retail centers and travel agents have launched attractive promotions and discount to lure celebrating customers.

Gift, cosmetics, and clothes shops on Xuan Thuy Road, Cau Giay District are offering promotions such as “buy one, get one free”, and discounts of 10 to 70 percent.
Phuong Ha, a clothes shop owner on Xuan Thuy Road said, “The number of my customers can go up 3-5 times during a promotion campaign. I can also sell much more than usual.”
Most clothes shops offer big promotions during this time in a bid to sell all their remaining summer clothes.
An abundance of attractive promotion programmes are drawing customers to shop until they drop.
Electronic and consumer products have huge discounts available.
Nguyen Tri (from Ba Dinh District) said excitedly, “There are many promotions but there are sometimes big discounts. Thus, I will take this chance to buy some electronic products.”
HC Electrical-electronic & Interior Supermarket is attracting numerous customers by launching a special promotion programme of “shopping during gold hours” from August 20 to September 6. For example, the first 290 customers on September 2 will benefit from a 50% discount applied to all products valued below VND2.9 million ($152).
At the same time, according to many travel agents in Hanoi, domestic and international tour prices are not going up. Most domestic tours actually have discounts to win customers.

For example, Vietran Tour offers a discount of VND500,000 for a group with more than 5 members who book a tour to Bai Lu Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. For a group with 10 members, they will benefit a free charge for one member.
Duong Mai Lan, Manager of the Market Research & Development Department of Vietravel Hanoi said that there was often rain in the north during the National Day holiday so customers were not interested in beach tours in the region. They often choose to go to Sa Pa (a mountainous area in the north), Ha Long (a famous bay in the north), Hue (an ancient city in the central region), Quang Binh, Hoi An or Nha Trang (beaches in the central region).
Many travel agents have offered 30% discounts on tours to Hanoi on the occasion of the 1,000 year anniversary of Hanoi (Thang Long).
Flight prices have also gone down during the National Day occasion. Jetstar Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Airlines are offering several discounts.
