Government employees will benefit from a long weekend in celebration of National Day on September 2.

Civil servants will enjoy a 4-day weekend getting both Thursday the 2nd and Friday the 3rd off of work along with the usual weekend.
The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs announced that since the holiday would fall on a Thursday. To make up for lost time from the long holiday weekend, government employees will be required to work on Saturday the 11th.
The approval from the Prime Minister on this change was to create more favourable conditions for government employees to take vacations. Meanwhile, it will help cut administrative costs, boost effectiveness in the workplace as well as ease traffic jams.
This adjustment to the schedule will not apply to State-run organisations and offices who work during the weekends.
