Vietnamese tourism will once again be back on CNN later this year as part of a program approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The advertising spot, which will cost VND5.3 billion (US$277,000) in broadcasting fees, will air in the third or fourth quarter as part of a $2.1 million tourism promotion programme for 2010.
In 2007, a 30-second clip on Vietnamese tourism ran on the cable provider for the first time, twice daily on CNN Asia for three months straight. That clip featured the big guns of Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, and Hue.
Vietnam will be showcased at six major foreign travel events – JATA World Tourism Congress and Travel Fair in Japan, TRAVEX 2011, and ITB Asia in Singapore, MITT in Russia, ITB Berlin, and FITUR travel fair in Spain.
