>> Thang Long Bridge to get another makeover
Hanoi’s Thang Long bridge, repaired only four months ago, is seriously damaged once again.
Huge potholes, rough patches and cracks are spreading over the bridge’s surface, causing dangerous driving conditions.

Vehicles creep along the bridge as they navigate the torn up road. If caution isn’t used, accidents are inevitable.
A traffic inspector of Dong Anh District, Hanoi, concurred that the bridge’s surface had a serious problem with huge potholes, rough spots and cracks. Orders have been given to repair the bridge but the situation has stayed the same.
“Traffic accidents are caused by these potholes and cracks on the bridge. It’s very challenging for drivers to maneuver around these cracks when there is heavy rain because their vision is limited,” added the inspector of Dong Anh District.
Another official said, “If this situation cannot be resolved soon, the structure of the bridge’s surface will be impacted, causing more serious consequences.”
DTiNews went to the scene and saw dangerous, long and deep cracks on the bridge’s surface.
