Discussion of several proposed bills and ordinance amendments will be continued at the National Assembly Standing Committee meeting which starts today in Hanoi.
The bills on Civil Servants, Administrative Procedures, and Environment Protection Tax will be considered at the week-long meeting.
The drafts were submitted to the NA at its seventh plenary session last month. The NA Standing Committee will also discuss amendments to the laws on Inspection and Minerals.
The Bill on Civil Servants, which is expected to be approved at the NA\'s last session of the year in November, will help define the responsibilities of State officials and civil servants.
The law is expected to come into force next year.
The Bill on Administrative Procedures was developed based on the relevant Ordinance which was introduced in 1996.
Alarming levels of pollution that have arisen due to fast national development and the subsequent challenges pushed lawmakers to draft the Law on Environment Protection Tax.
Both are also slated for approval in November.
The Bill on Inspection was adopted in 2004 and the Law on Minerals was introduced in 1996. Approval of their amendments is also planned for the final NA session of the year.
Drafts of the amendments to the Ordinance on Judges and Jurors of the Supreme People\'s Court, and the Ordinance on Members of the People\'s Procuracy are also slated for discussion during this week\'s session. The NA Standing Committee will consider the decisions on promoting additional members of the Jurors of the Supreme People\'s Court.
They will also contribute their ideas to the NA master plan on facilitating its activities, and its offices and bodies.
