Candidates of group A (math, physics, and chemistry) and V (math, physics and a field specific subject) sat for their first day of the university entrance examination on July 4.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, as many as 1.8 million candidates have registered for this year’s examination, of which 1.3 million have applied for universities and 500,000 for colleges.
The largest number of candidates belongs to group A with nearly 54 percent, followed by group B (19.8 percent), group D (15.2 percent), group C (8 percent), and the other groups (nearly 3.4 percent).
More than 640,000 completed their procedures on July 3, accounting for 74 percent of students registered.
