A man in a drunken state climbed up a high voltage power pole last weekend and fell asleep. He caused major panic from locals in Hung Tay Commune, Hung Nguyen District, Nghe An Province leaving them scared to death.
The high voltage power pole has a 220 KV power-line and is 30-40 metres height.
The man, 45, known as C., was tending ducks on Khoa Da field in Hung Tay Commune. Earlier, he drank a lot and could not control his behaviour. Suddenly, he decided to sleep on a high voltage power pole.
When C was found lying on top of the power pole, his relatives came to persuade him to come down but they failed. His son and nephews decided to climb up to take him down because they were worried that he might be fall down or get shocked. However, most of them could only climb halfway, then had to come down because of the dizzying height.
Finally, C’s son convinced him to climb down and he did so by himself without anybody’s help.
