As part of an ongoing celebration of the 15th anniversary of normalized relations, the Vietnamese government has invited a storied United States Naval Hospital ship, the Mercy, to come visit Binh Dinh Province.
The staff and crew will be cooperating on medical, construction and engineering projects as part of the Pacific Partnership 2010. This is the fifth annual humanitarian and civic assistance endeavor that is an international cooperative. The ship will visit from May 31 to June 12, conducting medical, dental and veterinary programs.
Medical and engineering professionals from Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom, and the U.S. military are participating.
