Logo contest to celebrate U.S. - Vietnam relations

A logo design contest has been announced to honour the celebration of the 15th anniversary of normalized relations between the two countries.

The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and U.S. Consulate General in HCMC have recently announced a logo design contest to honour the celebration of the 15th anniversary of normalized relations between the U.S. and Vietnam.

Following the requirements, the logo must be of an original and dynamic creation that signifies the strong ties and promising future shared by the two countries with the theme "U.S. - Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation: A Shared Future". The applicants will be able to submit up to 2 entries by Monday, June 7, 2010. A ceremony will be held later in June to announce the winner and finalists.

The winners will be rewarded with $150 for First prize, $75 for Second prize, $50 for Third prize and all prizes will be accompanied with special gifts as well as an official certificate from the Embassy.

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and the winning logo is expected to be used in the U.S. Embassy and Consulate anniversary event materials throughout the year.

Contest submissions must comply with the following rules:
  • Contest is open to the public, excluding members of the 15th Anniversary Logo Design Contest Judging Panel, U.S. Embassy Hanoi and U.S. Consulate General staff. Contest void where prohibited.
  • Entries must be created digitally and formatted to a jpeg file with 72dpi, at least 3MB but not larger than 5 MB. All entries must be submitted to the following address: http://creator.zoho.com/pashanoi/form/186.
  • Entries should be in English.
  • Entries must be an original work by the submitting individual, and may not infringe upon other intellectual property or copyrighted materials. Finalists will be required to submit a signature attesting to the originality of their artwork. In order to claim the contest prize, the winner will relinquish all intellectual property rights and physical ownership of the winning entry to the U.S. Embassy.
  • By participating in the contest, the winner grants the Embassy permission to use, copy, modify or alter the image as needed without further compensation to you.
  • Participants are allowed to submit up to two entries. Partial or incomplete work may be disqualified from the contest.
  • Submissions including any objectionable, offensive, or copyrighted material will be disqualified from the contest.
  • Submitted entries may be displayed by the U.S. Embassy at the conclusion of the contest, showcasing finalist entries.
  • Submission form will require you to write a brief description in English of the design concept, including why you chose to submit the entry, what the artwork means to you and explain any symbolism used and how the artwork follows the theme of the contest.
  • The U.S. Embassy is not responsible for lost or missing submissions. Please keep a copy of your work.

  • All entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010. Contest entries will be judged by the 15th Anniversary Logo Design Contest Judging Panel. The U.S. Embassy reserves the right to extend this deadline, if necessary. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at a date to be announced in June 2010.
