The Can Tho Polyclinic aims to become the first hospital in the Mekong Delta and the third hospital in Vietnam to succeed in in-vitro insemination.
Doctor Nguyen Huu Du, the hospital’s deputy director, said that during the last two months, the hospital has assisted 10 childless couples aged 22-32. The couples previously had been unsuccessfully treated by normal methods for over a year.
Du said that the results will be announced on May 20. The procedure costs a couple 40 million dong (nearly $2000).
Can Tho Hospital has invested nearly 10 billion dong (nearly $560,000) in its infertility ward, and is able to carry out 150 in-vitro operations a month.
