Russia's Atomstroiexport will begin to build a nuclear research centre in Vietnam in 2012, the company's Vice President, Timur Bavlakov said, reports Russia's Itar-Tass news agency.
"The launch of a nuclear research centre is scheduled for 2017. At present, the relevant documentation is being prepared," he said at a regional forum of nuclear industry suppliers ATOMEX - North-West on Tuesday.
"Vietnam's government has already taken a decision to build four nuclear power units and is eyeing an opportunity for building another four units in the country's north in the future," Bavlakov said.
