More urban planning revealed for Hanoi

A new urban area and Gia Lam Park located towards the east of Hanoi are expected to complete in 2020.

A new urban area and Gia Lam Park located towards the east of Hanoi in Long Bien and Gia Lam districts will cover 800 hectare and expected to complete in 2020.

Under the request of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, the People’s Committee of Hanoi requested Land Fund Development Centre to do site clearance for the project after the detailed planning is approved.

The People’s Committee of Hanoi directed that planning and investment in the project construction must be in line with master planning for Hanoi.

Accordingly, the new urban area will cover 400 hectares lying 10km away from the centre and close to the administrative center of Gia Lam District.

As expected, the project will be divided into 2 phases with an estimated investment worth $260 million.

The project will help Hanoi to have an independent urban area north of the Red River in order to meet accommodation demands of local people and lessen the population in the city’s centre.

Gia Lam Park will be a modern entertainment place as well as a scientific research center in Hanoi and in the North. It will cover 400 hectare and be invested $150 million.
