Vietnamese IT and telecommunication technology giant FPT(The Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology) released their figures for 2009 showing a total revenue of VND 18.75 trillion (over US $1 billion).
FPT exceeded their proposed outlooks for 2009 and grew by over 11 percent during the same period in 2008.
The growth highlighted a strong effort by business and administrative operations of the company as a whole. CEO Nguyen Thanh Nam pointed to three areas that allowed for the growth: Integrated systems, telecommunications and the software exporting industry.
Telecommunications earned the highest profits surpassing VND 540 billion followed by integrated systems which reached VND 415 billion and software exports which earned VND 208 billion.
FPT has continued to prove itself as an industry leader despite challenges such as the global economic downturn.
In 2010, FPT hopes to strengthen its end-user business through its own mobile phone brand of F-Mobile, which was launched in 2009.
