With the record sales of over 12,000 vehicles in November, Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) is optimistic about the outlook in December when preferential pre-registration fee will be phased out.
The members of the VAMA sold 12,259 vehicles in November; a slight increase compared to previous month but rose by 132% over the same period last year. Total sales in the first 11 months posted a 2% year-on-year growth, in which passenger vehicle sales increased39% and commercial vehicle sales fell by 11%.

The sales of passenger vehicles were very good, due to the pre-registration fee being phased out in January 2010, with November being a bumper time for the car market. With 4,486 units sold record sales were achieved. Home manufacturers expect that this figure will rise to 5000 in December.

GM Daewoo sold 1,434 units on all models. Toyota Corolla Altis had a significant rise selling up 190 units during October and November.
Passenger vehicles achieve record sales at the end of the year
Sales growth of four-wheel vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles such as Innova, Everest, and Carens also rose.In general the preference of the domestic consumer has remained the same.
The sport utility and multi-purpose vehicle market has not been dominated by Toyota; their main competitors are Ford Everest and Kia Carens.
The manufacturerrating list has remained the same as in October. However as forecasted, sales of passenger, sport utility and multi purpose vehicles may increase sharply in December; so manufacturers specialising mainly in commercial vehicles may no longer be in the Top 3.
