New Sun Park, part of the West Lake Water Park in Tay Ho District, has been closed for years due to its deterioration. The park, which covers 1.7 hectares, was once a popular place for children.
The highlight of the New Sun Park was a giant Ferris wheel, which is around 50 metres tall and has a 10-metre radius.
The wheel operated at New Sun Park for over 10 years. However, the ride is nearly 20 years old and was initially bought second-hand from Japan.
After the Ferris wheel stopped operating, the entire New Sun Park shut down.
The management unit has leased the New Sun Park area to be converted into a sports complex with a pickleball court.
The New Sun Park is located on Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street, which is designated the cultural and artistic hub of Tay Ho District.
