The event, which opened on June 27 at Muong Thanh Luxury Can Tho Hotel, was jointly organised by the city's Department of Industry and Trade and other partners during the peak durian harvest season.

The buffet features fresh durian alongside a variety of durian-based dishes, including desserts and traditional treats, highlighting opportunities to add value through food processing.
Ha Vu Son, director of the Can Tho Department of Industry and Trade, said durian had become one of the city's most valuable fruit crops, contributing to farmers' incomes and agricultural growth.
The event also includes livestream sales in partnership with Viettel Post to connect growers directly with consumers nationwide and overseas, helping reduce distribution costs through digital commerce and logistics.
Organisers said the festival also aims to boost tourism and strengthen regional cooperation to expand markets for Can Tho's agricultural products.
The department has urged cooperatives and growers to comply with food safety standards, improve product traceability and work with relevant agencies to promote the city's agricultural brands.
