Head of the Thach Ha District Forest Ranger Department, Le Thanh Hai, said on November 10 that they had received a rare python from Doan Quoc Phong in Luu Vinh Son Commune.
The python molurus is nearly four metres long and weighs over seven kilos
"The python molurus is nearly four metres long and weighs over seven kilos," Hai said. "Phong found it while working in his garden on the morning of November 9 and decided to hand it over to local authorities. We're monitoring it for some days before releasing it back into the wild.
Earlier on October 29, a local resident also handed over an Indian python of 2.5 metres long and six kilos in weight to Vu Quang National Park.
