Eintracht Frankfurt squad arrives in Vietnam

The German football club Eintracht Frankfurt arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on May 11 to prepare for a friendly against the Vietnamese National squad at the national stadium on May 12.

The match is part of a series of cultural activities to mark the 35th anniversary of German-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

The German squad consists of 25 footballers and 11 club officials. Among them are well-known players such as Halil Altintop, Chris, Caio, Nikolov and Alexander Meier.

The squad were in high spirits even after their long flight to Hanoi. The club’s Vice Chairman, Dr Thomas Prockl, said this is the second time he has visited Vietnam and he hopes he will have a better understanding of the country after this trip.

Meanwhile, player Halil Altintop said that he and his teammates will do their best for the Vietnamese spectators.

Eintracht Frankfurt will have a training session at the My Dinh National Stadium at 7pm on May 11. They will leave for HCM City on May 13 to prepare for a match against Dong Tam-Long An.
