Ha Giang Province with Dong Van Karst Plateau has become even more attractive in spring with cherry and plum tree flower blossoms.

Hang Giang in late February and early March has become even more beautiful with plum tree blossoms. Sung La Commune is one of the most favourite destinations for the tourists in Ha Giang because of friendly H'mong villagers and beautiful flowers like cherry and plum tree blossoms and buckwheat flowers.

In 2006, director Do Thanh Hai visited Sung La Commune during the pre-production stage of the movie The Story of Pao. He chose a house of a local H'mong family after being impressed by its architecture.

H'mong people in Ha Giang account for 31% of the total H'mong population in Vietnam. They mostly live in the northern districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac and two western districts of Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man. During the spring festival, the local people often wear new clothes to the markets and enjoy various games and activities.

Dong Van Karst Plateau was named a world geopark in 2010 and has seen some positive tourism development. It has prominent imprints that depict the development of the earth's crust.
