Hue City to renovate abandoned park
Authorities in the central city of Hue has planned to renovate an abandoned park.
Vo Le Nhat, chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, told a recent meeting that they were considering renovating the Thuy Tien Water Park in Thuy Bang Commune to become a symbol of the close ties between Hanoi, Hue and HCM City.
US news site Huffington Post listed Thuy Tien Park among its top 10 creepy destinations in 2016, while British newspaper The Daily Mail called it 'a curious and creepy site' for backpackers to visit.
Thuy Tien Lake Water Park's assets were auctioned off last year, but many of the structures and items, including the site's iconic giant dragon statue in the middle of the lake, have yet to be dismantled.

This year is the 65th anniversary of the relationship between the three localities, which will be marked with the transformation of Thuy Tien Water Park, the official said.
Thuy Tien Water Park, covering 50 hectares, was opened in 2004. However, due to its ineffective operation, it has been left idle for many years.
