Vietnamese in Germany present gifts to families of dead and wounded soldiers

The Vietnamese Women's Union in Germany has just presented over VND500 million to families of dead and wounded on the 77th anniversary of Vietnam War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

Between July 22-27, representatives from the Vietnamese Women's Union in Germany visited Nghe An, Quang Tri, Thai Binh, and Bac Ninh provinces to present gifts to families of dead and wounded soldiers and those affected by Agent Orange.

At a rehabilitation centre in the central province of Nghe An, the union gave 152 gifts and VND152 million to wounded soldiers on July 22.

A union representative, Nguyen Khanh Ly, shared that she was born in Nghe An and always remembered her home with lots of love.

"Many people in Nghe An sacrificed their lives to defend the country during the two wars against the French colonists and US invaders," she said. "We decided to raise funds through a music event in Germany to support the families of some dead and wounded soldiers in my hometown and some other provinces, including Thai Binh, Quang Tri, and Bac Ninh, who are still facing difficulties."
