HCM City to face consecutive rainy spells this month

HCM City has been forecasted to struggle with consecutive rainy fronts in July, according to the Southern Region Meteorological Station.

The rain and strong winds will mainly be concentrated in this month's first and last ten days. There will be heavy rain periods in the month, particularly between July 5-8.

Between July 1-10, the total rainfall in HCM City is forecasted to reach 80-150mm, 5-15 percent higher than the average level of many previous years. Rain will mostly occur by late afternoon.

The Southern Region Meteorological Station has warned of whirlwinds and lightning strikes during the rain. Some areas will be inundated following the rain.

The temperature in July in HCM City has been predicted to be higher than usual, with the highest level being 32-35 degrees Celsius.

According to Le Dinh Quyet, head of the forecasting board from the Southern Region Meteorological Station, there is a 65-percent probability that La Niña will develop from July to September.
