The remains were discovered by a person in Xiangkhouang Province in late January. The soldiers include those from the northern provinces of Thai Binh and Hai Duong and Hai Phong City.

Five graves have detailed information about the soldiers, while the remaining three have only their names.

The Military Steering Board of the central province of Nghe An sent a taskforce to Laos to verify the details and expanded the search for other possible bodies in Laos.

The found remains are scheduled to be repatriated after the Tet Holiday.

The remains of a Vietnamese soldier from the northern province of Hai Duong were also recently found in Xiangkhouang Province.
