The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has l warned that scammers are trying to con participants in their Run for Love competition.

According to VNA, there have been fake fanpages using logos and images of their Run for Love competition to collect fees from participants.

The airline stressed that they had not launched any other sites or social accounts other than their official fanpage to update information about the event.

"All other sites are fake and participants should be aware of this to avoid being swindled for money or sharing their private information," Vietnam Airlines warned.

This is not the first time a competition organiser has voiced warnings about online scammers.

Earlier, Vietcombank announced that some fake fanpages had illegally updated information about their marathon competition and called for people to send participation fees or participated in some groups on Zalo or Telegram apps.

Vietcombank noted that they had never collected fees from participants for their marathon events and warned that all other sites collecting fees were fakes.
