In the chilling weather of Hanoi, Sao – the shoeshine boy suffering from innate heart defect in a heart-rending plight and has been followed by Dan Tri recently, can finally have a reason to smile.
Sao looks happy with a new jacket – a gift from an audience, while Loc is on the phone with another one who is asking for their address to send over the pecuniary support.
Shortly after the first pieces of writing about the piteous situation of Sao were published by Dan Tri, he began to receive immense care from a community that was touched and and determined to help in the effort to save this young boy's life.
Sao tenderly comes close to Aunt Loc for a photo shoot, the little boy later conceded that it was really warm in the hospital.
Sao’s health is much improved with the concerns and supports from the community
On the morning of November 16, Ngo Thi Bich Loc and Sao's cousin Hoang Minh Chi, along with volunteers from the Hanoi Youth Union, were at the Hanoi Heart Hospital to help prepare and engage in the hospital procedures for Sao.
“Sao has been suffering from a serious and difficult innate heart defect, so the hospital management board decided to proceed with hospitalization procedures for him in order to protect him from fatal complications that could come with the chilling weather”, said Dr. Nguyen Minh Dao, who held a consultation for Sao.
According to Dr. Dao, doctors will do the “cardiac catheterization” procedure for Sao on Nov 17 and have a consultation by the end of this week before any surgery or medical treatment decisions are made.
“As of Nov 15, Sao has received VND47.4 million directly from benevolent audiences”, shared Loc.
