According to reports from local authorities, the workplace incident occurred at around 8.30 am at Binh Minh Wood Processing Factory in Vinh Cuu District, where up to 40 workers were repairing the boiler.

Six were found dead at the site, and seven others were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.

A resident who lives near the factory said that he heard a loud explosion at about 8.30 am and rushed out to see the work accident at the factory.

"I saw some bodies lying in the factory yard together with wrecked furniture," he said. "It was a horrible scene."

Doctors at Dong Nai-based Thong Nhat General Hospital said they received five patients, including one in critical condition and two seriously injured.

The Emergency Department of Dong Nai General Hospital dispatched ambulances and medics to assist in taking the victims to the hospital.

Dong Nai authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
