Over 200 tonnes of fish die in Song May Lake
More than 200 tonnes of fish have died from prolonged drought in Song May Lake in the southern province of Dong Nai.

According to the Trang Bom District People's Committee, this is the first time such an incident has occurred on the lake which is managed by the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command.
The fish deaths might have occurred due to falling water levels after water was taken from the lake to save the nearby rice and vegetables which are dying from serious droughts.
"Fish have died over the past 10 days with rising amounts reported in the last two days when the weather became hotter," the committee said. "We've sent a team to recover the dead fish all day and night."
The Song May Lake covers 300 hectares, providing water for rice and vegetables in the districts of Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu.
